About the O2 Incubator Project

Lots of small businesses rely on O2 for their communications, but small businesses don’t just want to talk. They want to use communications to help them win more new business, better engage with their customers, and refine their business process to increase their income.

We are looking for the best web developers around to apply them to solving challenges that small businesses face. By giving advice and resources, we want to find the best developers, not just the best available, to help small businesses in their everyday challenges and what is required of them to grow into successful organisations.

O2 are not sure what the right business model is for a small business network, but Paul Golding is a guy who has spent his life in the development community and as an advisor to many start-ups, so is the right person to guide these developers towards a successful project. On hand will also be Stephen Pilkington, O2’s finance expert for new ventures and Simon Devonshire, O2’s head of marketing for SME.

This is O2 stepping out the way, so that the best web developers can be the ones developing the most innovative web solutions out there, but having the resource and backing to achieve this.

The O2 Incubator Project is part of the growing investment Telefonica is making in the Developer Community, to foster innovation within web and mobile development. Other Developer initiatives in the group include O2 Litmus, the mobile application development community from O2 UK, Open Movilforum, Telefonica’s Spanish developer community, and the Movistar Developers Platform, Telefónica’s Mexican developer community.
